Let's do life together. Better. Be well.

Becoming Limitless: Learning to Break Your Own Ceiling

“Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life.  Because you become what you believe.”  Oprah Winfrey.

I believe this to be painfully true.  If you believe you will, you will; if you believe you won’t, well then you won’t.

What keeps us in the “won’t”?  Who holds us back from allowing ourselves to the the best version of our self?  What stops us from pursuing our fire?  Fear, insecurity and a general feeling that we are not enough.  Sound familiar?  Yeah, me too.  I have fought with these feelings of insufficiency for years.

So many of us feel this way, is there a way out?

Yes, but there is something that you need to know though.

You have unique talents that only YOU can bring to the world.

If that is true, what is it that traps us and prevents us from knowing and believing this Ultimately comparison. Comparison with those around us, with those we see on TV and social media and with a preconceived notion of what we “think” we are supposed to be.  In whatever business or goals you pursue, there will always be others that a like you but know this, there is no one that is exactly as GREAT as you.  There is only one you.  And stop letting anyone steal your joy.

“Comparison is the thief of joy”

Let me ask you a question.  If your child asked you “what can I be when I grow up?”, what would you tell them?

  1.  Anything you want to be.
  2. Well it depends on your talents, who you know, your limitations….I’ll stop there.

We all know we would tell them they could do anything they can dream of.  All they have to do is work hard and believe in themself!  So where does the self doubt come into play in the course of our lives?  Where do we set up these arbitrary limitations for ourselves?  No matter when they started for us and when the imaginary ceiling began to form in our minds, it doesn’t have to stay that way.

The next time someone tells you to “be more realistic” with your goals.  Politely give them the finger (ok, maybe not) and tell them that we all have a different version of reality, yours is simply limitless!

“Your reality is yours and yours alone.  And it should be as fabulous as you want it to be!”                  ~Cara Alwill Leyba, Girl Code.

I have a favor to ask you.  Would you tell me, if your possibilities were limitless (AND THEY ARE!), what would you do if you were guaranteed not to fail?  Cannot wait to hear your responses and dream with you!

Next time, we will chat about why her success does not mean your failure!
